Formerly MC Teckno, born in Hammersmith, London U.K. Originates from the Rave generation (the dreamscape daze !!!) has been performing on the British music scene since 1995. Surviving quite a painfull childhood, Tempo used lyricisim as a form of escapisim and a way to express the inmost feelings of his heart. Sucked in and moulded by a very dark urban scene, he found himself trying to be someone he wasn't. This inevitably led to rapping about Drugs & Crime (mixed with ego) he then ended up taking part in these and became progressivly worse.

After the death of his younger sister, parents divorcing, going deaf in his left ear, and dealing drugs to fund a habit, he reached a point of suicide at 18 years old. After making a stubborn & conscious decision that he would go ahead with it, he was then asking himself "what would be the best way to do it ?".

At this point he entertained the concept of God asking.... How has the Church survived the test of time in a Capitalist society ? Why do they have R.E/R.S lessons in school ??? etc etc. Figuring it was free to do he called out to the Lord from his heart, his prayer at the time was something along the lines of: "God, apparently your real. I'm gonna find out if you are or not tomorrow so if life really is a gift, give me a sign that I can't class as an illusion - amen".

He then heard the audible voice of God speak to him, as real as you looking at your computer screen right now. He did an alpha course which allowed him to ask all the questions that he had and was later invited to attend a church service to which he reluctantly agreed. In a minority crowd of 30 people (on a balcony) out of hundreds in an auditorium, an indian minister called Ram Babu pointed at him and bought a prophetic word that he was deaf in his left ear and that God would heal him. He went to the front to recive prayer and was instantly healed on the spot.

With various other things happening, it wasn't untill he was 21 that he finally admitted he was a sinner before a Holy God, and by the mercy of Jesus, became a 'Christian'. Shortly after this, Jesus gave him a calling to stop rapping about what he was rapping about... and start rapping for the Lord who made him.

Since then Jesus has, and continues to use Tempo to minister his Word to reach thousands of people worldwide from many nations, and crowds of anything between 10 and 10,000 at a time. Tempo says "I've learned that Hip Hop is about being real and there is nothing more real to me than the love of Christ. I do enjoy the music but come crunch time I don't do it for myself, I do it for Jesus."
